The Owner

Yellow Hills Ranch is owned by Yellow Hills LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company. The project was organized by World

Associates, Inc. in cooperation with private investors. Together they are focused on methods for creating sustainable

environments, products, funding models, and the practices that support them.

Project Vision
This definition of sustainable is also an explanation of what we intend.
“A sustainable community is a place where residents maintain themselves by employing practices in the areas of land use,
agriculture, and resource management that foster independence. A place where residents act in concert with their environment

The Plan
The land, Yellow Hills Ranch, is zoned agricultural, and plans call for a majority of it to remain in agriculture. The owners will
request that Rio Arriba County consider approving a plan to preserve pastures for use in a managed grazing and wildlife zone,
put land aside for community supported agriculture or forest gardens, and calls for residential areas to be clustered on the
north end of the property.

Financing Options
For Yellow Hills Ranch to be a success, a kind of cooperative economics is called for to encourage small scale agriculture. That
means an environment where there is an incentive for people to assist in creating small scale enterprises. Offering flexible
financing terms, economical housing options, trading agricultural work for ownership or a portion of profits, will all play a part in
